Nexus Offshore Adventures

The Nexus 640 is literally everything a true blue water voyager would want. She is very strong, sails very well up and downwind, fast (8-12kts in average conditions and capable of 20+), high bridge deck clearance, huge load capacity without sacrificing speed, extensive fuel and water range, comfortable in a seaway and at anchor, and her enclosed helm reduces fatigue and provides excellent visibility.

She is easily handled by a couple, has an impressive sail inventory and strong rig, and her spacious cabins take standard size mattresses. She has a wonderful galley up configuration with plenty of storage and refrigeration, incredible visibility fore and aft through the salon, high ceilings, and remarkably low maintenance interior and exterior. She is everything a true blue water sailor would want, and is the best balance between performance and comfort in the catamaran world.

That was before she was extended by 4 more feet and turned it into a FISHING MACHINE!
Watch this space as we take her on a world voyage to some of the remotest seamounts and inaccessible fishing spots in the world. Our voyage on Nexus in 2011 was just a taster of what is to come in the year ahead!?

She officially has her name now - LYRA NOA

LYRA is a constellation name taken from the lyre of Orpheus. It contains the star Vega, the brightest star in this small constellation. It is also the fifth brightest star in the night sky.
NOA is the abbreviation of "Nexus Offshore Adventures" and has the Maori meaning: a force free of restriction...that which does not inhibit.
Both very appropriate..
