Catch Reports // Tough Two Days
Great to have a calm day on the ocean after yesterdays almost Gale conditions late in the afternoon. Bad hookups are expected in those conditions so the 3 loses yesterday are bearable. Yesterday saw prefrontal conditions ahead of the south storm that hit last night and with a barometer below 1000 mb I wasnt expecting much action. The Dorado are still rampant and we landed a few in the 20 kg range before going tight with the biggest Blue I have seen here for the past 3 seasons. To see her jump free after an atomic run was hard to swallow in perfect conditions. Seeing the explosions and water displacement of that +800lb beast was awesome after this lean spell and heartbreaking for Jan who is still without his first marlin.
2 other boats had hookups and losses in the area on Blues, so the game is warming up nicely with 27.5 degree purple water moving in at last.
Sad story but great to see the fat girls back in the bay and looking forward to some more hot action after this front passes.
